Scary Stuff

I feel like the past few months I've been seeing so many stories about children being run over. For example last Sunday a 2 year old was hit in an LDS church parking lot, then 2 days ago a 4 year old boy was killed when his aunt ran over him. Last year one of Seth's clients, little boy was run over and killed by someone in the family. It scares me so bad. Every time I read or hear about a child being run over I can't stop thinking about it. Then when I try and sleep at night all I think about is it happening to one of my kids.
As heartbreaking as it is to hear about, it's such a good reminder for me. I've been having talks with Bella about how people in cars can't see little kids, and I think she understands but you never know. It's even more scary for the kids under 3 that don't understand. You think you're watching your kids so closely, but some times they get away.
Anyway I went on the Primary Children's Hospital web site and found this page about Spot the Tot. I thought I would post it as a reminder for all of us.
good to know
another good web site is www.kidsandcars.org it has some scary stats.

I know what you mean Amy. I think about this nightmare daily, mainly because there is nothing more tragic.

yesterday when I was at work that's the nurse's and doc's were talking about! there were also several cases of drownings or near drowning that had come through the ER in the just the last two days. it was sort of depressing and worrisome. i've totally been thinking about the same stuff so thanks for the websites! good job for being pro-active in teaching bella!

That is one of my greatest fears as well. When I was a little girl one of my cousins was run over by my Grandma. Thank goodness he was okay. It seems to be happening more & more. (I think it's mostly because everyone seems to be in such a hurry ALL THE TIME.) I think about it every time I back out of my driveway 'cause it's hard to see with how my driveway walls are--- I'm always so scared there's going to be kids playing in the street & I won't see them. Thanks for the reminder! I will check out the websites for sure.

Totally scary. My sister in law and I were just talking about this yesterday. I can't even imagine this happening to anyone.
